The MSP laboratory is subdivided into three kinds of research group.

 

¡§        SSP (Speech Signal Processing) group

¡§        DIP (Digital Image Processing) group

Advisor; Prof. Jung, Ho-Youl

¡§        MCP (Media Communication Processing) group

Advisor; Prof. Yoo, Kook-Yeol

 

The SSP group is working towards the research and development for speech signal processing technology. Especially, they concentrate on recognition, analysis/composition and its module design of speech signal. Now, there are four members of master course, and they are performing two research projects, ¡°The Development of Speech and Speaker Recognition Module for Mobile Application¡± (KIITEP, Korea) and ¡°A Study on the QoS-guaranteed Traffic Engineering and Multimedia Service Platform in the Next Generation Wired/Wireless Integrated Networking Environment¡± (MIC, Korea). The alumni are active in universities, colleges, major companies, and national research institutes.

The DIP group is working towards the research and development for audio data, video stream, and 3D meshes, as well as still image. Main research topics include digital watermarking, JPEG/JPEG2000 standard, data compression, 3D graphics, and quality measurement for transmitted multimedia data. Now, there are three members of doctor course, and they are performing two research projects, ¡°Joint Watermarking and Compression in 3-D Irregular Meshes via Multi-resolution Wavelet Analysis¡± (KOSEF, Korea and CNRS, France) and ¡°A Study on the QoS-guaranteed Traffic Engineering and Multimedia Service Platform in the Next Generation Wired/Wireless Integrated Networking Environment¡± (MIC, Korea). The alumni are active in national research institutes and telecommunication company.

The MCP group is working towards the research and development for video stream including H.26x and MPEG-4/7. Especially, they are interested in video coding technology for QoS guaranteed network. There are two members of master course, and they are performing one research project, ¡°A Study on the QoS-guaranteed Traffic Engineering and Multimedia Service Platform in the Next Generation Wired/Wireless Integrated Networking Environment¡± (MIC, Korea).
